Winters cements position at AYOP

June 28 - Dorothy Winters has joined the Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Port (AYOP) as offshore business development manager, with effect from this month.

In her new role, Winters will be paying attention to renewables and offshore oil and gas, with a special focus on offshore wind.

Prior to taking on a full-time position at AYOP, Winters served as both marketer of the Port of Amsterdam and offshore wind programme manager at AYOP.

Wind energy in the Netherlands is expected to grow strongly over the next five to eight years, with three newly planned wind farms generating an increase of 3,500 MW.

"Most of the wind farms will be directly on our doorstep. And this is only the beginning. Offshore wind has the wind in its sails. The North Sea Canal area has proved its mettle as an offshore wind region over the years," said Winters.
