Almajdouie supports Saudi Arabia’s green targets

Almajdouie Logistics has invested in new trailers to support Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy expansion.

Goldhofer’s head of transport technology Rainer Auerbacher and Almajdouie Logistics heavy lift general manager Eyad Arafah signed a purchase agreement at the Breakbulk Europe exhibition in Bremen.

In line with ongoing efforts to support Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 renewable energy goals, Almajdouie Logistics has purchased 60 axle lines of hydraulic trailers from Goldhofer.

Almajdouie Logistics general manager – heavy lift, Eyad Arafah, said the units will be delivered within the next two months. A number of the units will be used to support upcoming wind energy projects.

He explained: “These specialised blade trailers will be able to support upcoming renewable energy projects in northern Saudi Arabia, which should start in 2020. When we look at the current projects that we are bidding on, we can see that there is a lot of potential – the demand is there.”

In addition to wind energy, a number of desalination plants, as well as petrochemical and solar projects, are being planned to support the Kingdom’s energy diversification objectives.

Arafah added: “The purchase of the Goldhofer trailers is part of our planned fleet renewal ahead of these upcoming projects. Through the introduction of advanced new equipment, we will be in an even stronger position to meet our customers’ evolving requirements while simultaneously enhancing safety and productively.”
