Qatar Airways boosts B777 capacity

Qatar Airways Cargo has placed an order for five Boeing 777 freighters, enabling it to establish additional trade routes and increase capacity on key trade lanes.

Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said the company has introduced three new freighter routes; Hanoi to Dallas; Chicago to Singapore; and Singapore – Los Angeles – Mexico City.

The aircraft order was placed at the Paris Air Show last week. Al Baker added that the new equipment would boost the carrier’s B777F capacity by 20 percent.
