AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) has contracted Aviation Capital Group (ACG) to finance part of the acquisition of a Boeing 747-8 freighter, which is expected to be delivered to the Russian operator in February 2019.
ACG was contracted to structure, arrange and provide a guarantee for a senior loan to finance a portion of the purchase price of the aircraft under its Aircraft Financing Solutions (AFS) programme.
Tatiana Arslanova, vice-president, strategic management of Volga-Dnepr Group, explained that ABC’s strategy is to expand its fleet and network. Currently, its fleet consists of 18 Boeing 747 freighters.
According to Bob Roy, managing director of ACG, it is the first aircraft transaction funded under the AFS programme, which complements ACG’s operating lease business.
