January 30 - Abnormal Load Services (ALS) is moving a 215-tonne waste recovery unit from the north of England to India.

The waste heat recovery unit, which stands 17.38m tall, will be shipped next Tuesday, from Hull to Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh.

Once in place, the unit will be used for gas processing at a landfill site in the Krishna Godavari gas field.

The UK forwarder says its client, CiTECH Energy Systems Limited, has seen a fairly constant demand for waste heat recovery units over the past five years.

ALS operations manager Andrew Wormald has been working on the project since early 2007. "The major challenge for ALS is the co-ordination of the transport, police, cranes and vessel. Any delay incurs serious financial loss to ALS, or our client," he said.
