June 9 - This month Atlantic Ro-Ro Carriers (ARRC) will be adding a new multipurpose vessel - San Pablo - to its fleet, as part of its fleet upgrade and service expansion programme.
Upon delivery, the vessel will be added to ARRC's regular sailing schedule and will serve the trade lane between St Petersburg, northwest continental Europe and the USA East Coast and Gulf ports.
San Pablo is a 30,500 dwt multipurpose tween deck vessel and is the sister ship of Antonio, which HLPFI reported had joined ARRC's fleet on June 6.
The vessel, which are suitable for the carriage of breakbulk, project, bulk and containerised cargo, is geared with two 50-tonne lifting capacity and two 100-tonne lifting capacity cranes.
With the additional carrying capability provided by San Pablo, ARRC said it intends to increase the frequency of sailings to and from St Petersburg and extend service to a wider range of European originating cargo.
ARRC also recently expanded its Trans-Atlantic service into northwest continental Europe, by launching a regular monthly westbound direct all water service via the port of Vlissingen to the US Gulf, covering the ports of Houston, New Orleans and Tampa on a liner basis.
ARRC appointed Ernst Glaessel GmbH & Co KG as a general agent for northwest continental Europe, covering the territory between Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
