The new joint venture, which has more than 100 years combined experience and boasts a proven track record in multimodal logistics projects, has invested in new Scheuerle transport equipment which is available for deployment throughout the Gulf region. 

With its head office in Muscat, Bahwan Wagenborg operates from a base near the Port of Sohar, providing services which include heavy lift and transportation services by SPMT, conventional trailers and heavy cranes; rig moving and management, shipping, as well as oilfield management. 

The Scheuerle equipment includes conventional platform trailers combined with heavy duty prime movers with an initial carrying capacity of about 700 tonnes. The platform trailers are kept with all auxiliary equipment which allows Bahwan Wagenborg to build all possible combinations. 

The company will also operate a fleet of heavy crawler cranes in the region. This fleet ranges from a 400-tonne crawler Type, LR 1400; plus 500 and 600-tonne capacity Demag cranes, as well as a 750-tonne crawler, Type LR 1750. 

Together with the trailers and cranes, Bahwan Wagenborg is also equipped with auxiliary equipment, such as supports, stools, ramps, beams, steel plates, spreaders, slings, shackles and a variety of miscellaneous rigging gear.
