May 6 - BigMove AG has welcomed Dutch company Mammoet Road Cargo as the latest member of its European heavy transport network.

This addition will improve the haulage capacity of BigMove AG, with 55 tows trucks and 80 semi-trailers added to its current fleet of 240 tow trucks and 550 special trailers.

In addition the number of storage and transshipment hubs will increase, with 5,000 sq m of indoor and outdoor storage space available at Mammoet Road Cargo's headquarters, and connection to inland waterway transport adjacent to its premises.

Marco Jorissen, managing director of sales and operations at Mammoet Road Cargo explained that the new partnership with BigMove would allow it to cover European operations more efficiently.

The planning of projects and transportation throughout Europe takes extensive international experience in approval policies, administrative procedures and route planning, said BigMove, and this experience is something that Mammoet Road Cargo boasts.

Horst Wallek, ceo of BigMove explained that due to the partnership, the network would benefit from combined purchasing for its standardised fleet: "Sharing vehicles in the network will be easier by joint permits for vehicle types across the whole BigMove organisation."

BigMove will be exhibiting at the Breakbulk exhibition in Antwerp next week at stand 120 in Hall 1.
