February 9 - Blue Water Shipping has transported three wind turbine blades, each measuring 88.4 m in length and weighing 34 tons (30.8 tonnes).

Blue Water Shipping chartered Meriaura's open deck carrier Meri for the voyage between Esbjerg, Denmark and Bremerhaven, Germany and executed the loading operation in Esbjerg.

The blades were produced by LM Wind Power and according to Blue Water Shipping they are the longest wind turbine blades to be transported by sea.

Discharge in Bremerhaven was undertaken by two floating cranes working in tandem and was executed by BluewaterBREB, Blue Water Shipping's joint venture with Bremer Reederei E&B (BREB).
