August 24 - European policy for strengthening ports will be on the agenda of the 19th Lower Saxony ports day which will be held this year in the port of Brake on September 4th.

The event will be addressed by Lower Saxony Minister for Economy Dr Philipp Rösler and Dimitrios Theologitis, Head of Unit Maritime Transport & Ports Policy; Maritime Security at the European Commission and more than 500 guests are anticipated. 

Mr Theologitis will present his speech the "European policy for strengthening ports".

"We are very happy that we could attract Mr. Theologitis with his profound knowledge of the European ports and economical environment as speaker for our ports day," said Andreas Bullwinkel MD of the Seaports of Niedersachsen."We are also very delighted that Jean-Louis Colson, Head of Unit Internal markets & competition at the EC will be participating too. Both gentlemen are working in areas, which are of highest importance for our ports. Therefore we are very grateful, that they are giving us the chance to present some of our ports to them during their stay in Germany." 

Seaports of Niedersachsen represents eight ports with numerous port handling operators, trans-regionally active logistical networks and specialists for every type of port service. The port of Brake is one of the eight which specialises in the handling of bulk-cargoes and has achieved considerable growth in recent years in the field of project cargoes and for wind energy shipments.
