Cargo volumes soar at Sheremetyevo

Sheremetyevo International airport handled more than 300,000 tonnes of cargo in 2018, an increase of 5.5 percent compared with 2017.

220,000 tonnes of cargo was shipped to international destinations in 2018, an increase of 7 percent year-on-year.

One of the factors contributing to the increase in international exports, according to Sheremetyevo, was the growth of export volumes at Russian airlines Aeroflot and AirBridgeCargo (ABC).

The most popular international routes were China, Germany, the USA, the Netherlands and South Korea.
