Cargolux agreement finally reached

December 16 - Following repeated meetings over the last 24 hours, Cargolux says that an 'amicable agreement' has been achieved between all concerned parties on the new collective work agreement (CWA) for staff of the freighter airline.

After months of negotiations, Cargolux management and the unions - OGBL, CLSC and LCGB - have finally come to an agreement on a new CWA, which the airline says will be valid for three years.

"I am extremely pleased to have come to a common understanding with our social partners," said Cargolux president and ceo Dirk Reich. "With the agreement, we achieve a significant improvement in the flexibility and economic efficiency of Cargolux and send a strong signal for the job security at Cargolux and increased competitiveness of Luxembourg as a leading logistic hub in Europe."

Just last week, HLPFI reported that the CWA deal had taken a step backwards after LCGB supposedly 'backtracked' on the principle agreement that had been reached on December 1.
