CEVA and Schenker win energy business

September 24 - CEVA Logistics has won a new contract with Baker Hughes, a global oilfield service company, covering the management of all inbound and outbound freight logistics within Australasia.

Baker Hughes has operations in over 90 countries and provides advanced products and services to help customers drill, evaluate and produce oil and gas wells.

Under the contract, CEVA will be responsible for the management of all customs clearance, de-stuffing of containers and loose product deliveries to Baker Hughes' operations.

CEVA will also be responsible for line haul operations along the West Australian coast, drill bit cleaning and preparation, together with a range of wharf services, including break bulk.

DB Schenker has been awarded the international and domestic Australian "Integrated Logistics Services" (ILS) contract by Chevron Australia to transport material and equipment on a global basis for the massive Gorgon Project.

The ILS contract for the Barrow Island LNG Plant is estimated at AU$ 590 Million over four years. It is anticipated that materials in excess of two million freight tonnes will be moved to module fabrication yards in Asia and/or directly to Australia.

The Gorgon Project, Australia's largest resources project to date, with a capex of AU$ 43 billion, strengthens DB Schenker's position as a leading logistics provider of project freight management services not only in Australia's energy and resource markets, but also in the Australian project logistics market.
