Cosco adds to semi-sub fleet

October 12 - Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers has acquired the semi-submersible heavy lift vessel Xia Zhi Yuan 6 for RMB200 million (USD30.4 million) via an auction arranged by Ningbo Maritime Court.

The 30,000 dwt vessel, previously owned by Zhejiang Xiazhiyuan Ship Management which went bankrupt in 2015, has been operated within Cosco's semi-submersible heavy lift pool since 2012.

Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers has confirmed that after it completes the registration process in China, the vessel will be renamed Zhi Yuan Kou.
