September 23 - Deutsche Afrika-Linien/John T. Essberger Group, known universally as DAL, beat the drums for the South African trade with an customer 'infotainment' evening in London.

DAL director, Michael Davies who is responsible for the line's South African trade explained DAL's long standing presence in the South Africa trade as well as its future plans now that it operates independently within the SAECS Service and is represented by Cory Brothers Shipping in the UK.

Klaus-Dieter Lahlah, director Liner Services also provided details of DAL's Indian Ocean service between North Europe and Port Reunion, Port Louis and Tamatave.

The entertainment was introduced by Cory Brothers managing director John van Bergen and included a South African barbeque complete with Ostrich Burgers and Zulu dancing.
