October 18 - Royal Boskalis Westminster (Boskalis) has sold Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT) to Amsterdam-based Sevenstar Yacht Transport, which is part of the Spliethoff Group.
With the acquisition of Dockwise in March 2013, Boskalis also acquired the activities of Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT), but says that the latter's activities have no strategic value and do not fit with the group's existing core business.
Boskalis reports that the sale of the DYT activities, which includes two dedicated semi-submersible yacht transport vessels (Super Servant 4 and Yacht Express) was for USD40 million, adding that this divestment will not have a material impact on Boskalis earnings.
Readers may recall that in November 2011, the then independent Dockwise announced it had signed a letter of intent to sell DYT to Coby Enterprises Corp, supported by private equity and with participation of the existing management of DYT, but that deal never came to fruition.
