DSV drops interim name to return to old identity

October 12 - Just 13 months after the corporate merger of DSV Air & Sea and ABX Logistics Air & Sea, described at the time by mangers as "the perfect match", the expanded company will now officially be known, with immediate effect, as DSV Air & Sea GmbH.

Since May, DSV Air & Sea and the former ABX Logistics Air & Sea had traded under the name DSV Air & Sea (Germany) GmbH. This name, however, was only regarded as an interim identity to meet certain legal framework requirements to allow operation.

DSV Air & Sea has a considerable project-related transport services expertise, employing a team of engineers specialising in planning and execution of project-related transport and logistics worldwide, including high and heavy shipments.

The merger was approved by the relevant competition authorities on 19 September, 2008 and bolstered DSV's transport and logistics companies in Europe as well as expanding its geographical coverage by seven countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Japan, Mexico and Venezuela to give it a presence in 59 countries.

The new company is set to have an annual turnover of approximately EUR6,517 million with 25,200 employees in 59 countries.
