DVB Bank adds shipping expert

April 2 - Bart Veldhuizen has joined the Board of Managing Directors of DVB Bank SE.

Specifically, he will assume responsibility for the Bank's Shipping Finance and Offshore Finance divisions.

Veldhuizen brings on board a wide, international range of experience in providing advisory services and raising finance for companies active in maritime shipping and offshore exploration and production.

He joins DVB from Swaen Marine, London, the company he founded and owned, which specialises in providing advisory services to the international shipping industry.

In addition, he has held numerous non-executive directorships with leading shipowners and private equity houses.

From August 2007 to October 2011 he was managing director and global head of shipping at Lloyds Banking Group, London, where he was responsible for origination, structuring and loan portfolio management of the bank's global shipping finance business. Previously he worked for NIBC Bank, The Hague, since August 2002, where he was responsible for financings in the shipping and energy sectors.
