June 15 - Egyptian Global Logistics (EGL), a subsidiary of the Kadmar Group, has delivered two boilers for El Nasr Co. for Intermediate Chemicals (NCIC).

The boilers, which measured 6 m in height, were transported from Alexandria to Ain Sokhna, Egypt.

Due to the height of the boilers, EGL had to transport the cargoes on an alternative route to avoid low bridges and obstacles. The boilers were transported 320 km through narrow roads and residential areas to reach the installation site in Ain Sokhna.

In a separate project, EGL has transported two gearboxes and two transformers from the Port of Adabiya to a cement factory in Beni Suef, Egypt.

After arriving on board Jumbo Fairlane, one of the two heavy lift ships in Jumbo's H-class fleet, the cargoes were transported 280 km, utilising ten axle lines of Goldhofer's modular trailers. Fitted with two 400-tonne capacity cranes, Jumbo Fairlane has a combined lifting capacity of 800 tonnes.

Due to the size of the units, one of which measured 3.4 m x 6.9 m x 6.9 m and weighed 78 tons (70.8 tonnes), EGL says it had to manoeuvre the cargoes with absolute precision along the route, which involved narrow roads and obstacles.
