July 25 - UK based Ermin Plant Hire has taken delivery of a new Atego tractor unit from Mercedes-Benz and a plant body from Andover Trailers.

The Atego truck, which replaces a similar unit in Ermin's fleet, will be used mainly to transport diggers, dumpers and rollers to construction sites across the UK.

Built with combined mesh and hardwood ramps, the Andover Trailers plant body allows for the loading of machinery on tyres or tracks, as well as steel drum rollers.

Ermin has also ordered a Mercedes-Benz Arocs prime mover with plant body for delivery later this year.

Andover Trailers noted that the new plant body will feature a double-crank beavertail and fuel-saving fold-forward ramps, hydraulic steady legs and eight pairs of lashing rings, with four further rings fitted in the centre of the deck.

It will be used to deliver larger items of plant, ranging from excavators to telehandlers, forklifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers and dump trucks.
