March 11 - Fednav has begun its North Atlantic liner service early this year, with the first ship of the season, Federal Danube, leaving the Port of Brake, Germany destined for the Great Lakes.

The transatlantic service, which calls at the Canadian ports of Valleyfield and Hamilton, as well as the Port of Chicago and other US gateways, carries bulk and breakbulk cargoes when the Great Lakes St Lawrence Seaway system is not closed for winter.

Project cargo, including iron and steel products, as well as wind turbine components, were loaded on Federal Danube at the Port of Brake's heavy lift terminal.
