Fesco has increased the tonnage on its container service between Vladivostok and Sakhalin in Russia with the acquisition of the 511 teu general cargo vessel, Fesco Nevelsk.

Part of a fleet renewal programme, the vessel measures 99.98 m in length and has a width of 18.8 m. With a deadweight of 5,577 tons (5,059.4 tonnes), Fesco Nevelsk will be used to transport containers, as well as general and bulk cargo.

The vessel is equipped with two cranes, featuring a lifting capacity of 40 tons (36.2 tonnes) each, which Fesco says enables the unloading of cargo in ports that do not have their own cranes.

Fesco Nevelsk joins the container vessel Fesco Nagaevo on the service. According to Fesco, the placement of a second vessel on the service is in response to an increase in volumes.

The service departs Vladivostok for Korsakov in Sakhalin twice a week and has a transit time of two days.
