February 7 - A 300-ton (272-tonne) capacity Manitowoc crawler crane has made its first lift at the Port of Milwaukee, USA.

The USD2.7 million model 2250 crawler crane, which was delivered to the port in late 2016, has moved part of a mining shovel. The shovel's mainframe component weighed more than 200,000 lbs (90.7 tonnes).

Milwaukee mayor, Tom Barrett, said: "This new crane is a city infrastructure investment that supports the port's operations and serves the transportation needs of local companies."

The crane will be used by port employees to move cargo on Jones Island.
