April 27 - AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) carried over 132,000 tonnes of cargoes across its international route network in the first three months of 2016 - a 27 percent year-on-year increase and a quarterly record for the Russia headquartered carrier.

January 2016 saw ABC handle 43,000 tonnes of freight, while in February tonnage rose 15 percent year-on-year despite the extraordinary demand for capacity seen last year due to the strikes at US ports. ABC's latest figures for March show a 35 percent upswing year-on-year with 51,000 tonnes carried.

"For ABC, such growth is a result of being in close touch with our customers to understand first their further market development moves in order to be there with a competitive main-deck solution when and where they expect it," said Denis Ilin, ABC's executive president.
