April 24 - According to the Global Air Cargo Advisory Group (GACAG), countries with poor communication strategies must not rely on the air cargo industry to raise awareness and to enforce new air cargo supply chain security measures.

GACAG has raised concerns that a non-uniform approach to implementing new security requirements worldwide will result in bureaucracy, higher costs, and accidental non-compliance in the aviation sector - national security regulators should support industry to effectively implement security systems, be it through clear government websites, publications or other means.

GACAG is an advisory body made up of four established air cargo industry associations - International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Global Shippers' Forum (GSF), and The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) - and provides a unified voice when dealing with regulatory bodies worldwide.
