January 25 - A new, independent shipping line has been established to serve key markets in the Pacific - Greater Pacific Shipping (GPS).
Headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, the newly formed GPS is a partnership between three regional carriers: Pacific Direct Line (PDL); Sofrana Unilines; and the liner division of The China Navigation Company (CNCo).
GPS will deliver a range of services between New Zealand, Australia and islands in the Pacific Ocean. GPS will offer dedicated liner services to the Cook Islands and French Polynesia, as well as coverage of ports across the northern and eastern Pacific.
