January 23 - German logistics provider GROUP7 has commissioned a new logistics centre in south Neuss, Germany.

The new facility will be located close to the Dusseldorf inland ports on a 45,000 sq m plot of land, and GROUP7's managing director, Günther Jocher commented: "Our decision to pick a new location is due to the growth of our company. We registered an around 10 percent increase in turnover even though 2012 was not a strong year for the economy."

Building work will start in August and GROUP7 expects the facility to be fully operational by spring 2014.

GROUP7 has been involved in various heavy lift and project shipments. In May 2012, HLPFI reported that GROUP7 partnered with Mayan Group to transport over-dimensional processing plant components from Germany to Israel.
