Höegh Jacksonville was the first of two sister vessels delivered to Höegh, each with the capacity to carry up to 6,500 vehicles, which was reported by HLPFI on May 20.

Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown joined executives from Höegh Autoliners and JAXPORT in welcoming the vessel into the harbour.

"While this is a great honour, Höegh's commitment to Northeast Florida goes deeper than the name on this impressive new ship," said chairman of the JAXPORT board, John Falconetti.

Höegh Autoliners operates out of JAXPORT's Blount Island marine terminal, and Jacksonville now also serves as the company's US headquarters.
