February 15 - Singapore's Bayswater Shipping & Forwarding Pte Ltd has taken delivery of a second LHM 180 Liebherr mobile harbour crane, providing a maximum lifting capacity of 64t and a maximum outreach of 35m.

Bayswater, based at Jurong Port, said the machine would be used to support the transportation of cargoes between Singapore and Batam Island, Indonesia as well as the barging of transhipment project cargo within the Asia region.

"Perfectly suited" for the handling of large volume, heavy lift and/or oversized transhipment cargo, the machine would enable the direct discharge and loading of feeder vessels to barges or from barges to feeder vessels, the company said.

"Bayswater will benefit from lowered energy consumption, reduced spare parts needs and improved operating efficiency," said Kelvin Tan, director of Bayswater.
