Broekman names de Man

Broekman Logistics has appointed Cor de Man as its general manager, responsible for Broekman's forwarding activities in the Netherlands and its specialised breakbulk-related project logistics activities.

De Man has joined Broekman Logistics from DSV, where he served as vice president global sales, Europe. Prior to his role at DSV, de Man held positions at Nedlloyd, KPMG and UTi Worldwide.

As of April 2018, Broekman Logistics' forwarding activities in the Netherlands will be overseen by managing director Rik Pek.

With de Man's appointment, Pek says the company has a stronger focus on capturing synergies between its breakbulk terminals, warehousing and distribution, and forwarding and shipping divisions, as well as tapping into the digitalisation of the logistics industry.

As part of this transition, Albert Hoek, managing director for international forwarding and shipping, will focus his attention on the continued growth of the global activities of Broekman Logistics.

"Next to a further strengthening of our networks through selected, long-term partnerships, we are also looking into opportunities to leverage our expertise in chemical warehousing and logistics for the continued expansion of our activities, amongst others in Poland and India," said Hoek.
