December 15 - MAC Logistic International Group has coordinated the shipment of a casting line for a steel mill in Brazil.

The consignment - which comprised 200 open top and flatrack containers, as well as 2,500 cu m of breakbulk cargo - was loaded in Hamburg, Germany and Tianjin, China for delivery to the Brazilian port of Santos.

MAC Logistic business development director Paulo Gomes explained: "MAC Logistic was hired under door-to-door terms with full responsibility of operations under our control. After the planning stage, all documentation, packing lists, invoices and letter of credits were managed, controlled, corrected and approved by our Customs broker team in accordance with Brazilian Customs regulations."

He added that the company obtained Brazilian Customs clearance in advance, which avoided extra port charges. MAC Logistic also arranged road permits in advance for the 300 km overland journey from the port to final site.

MAC Logistic is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Brazil.
