Spain’s Marguisa Shipping Lines is teaming up with United Heavy Lift (UHL) to offer a joint multipurpose service to West Africa.

As part of the joint sailing agreement (JSA), the companies will increase their presence on the African continent by offering more frequent sailings from the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Northern Europe.

“The combination of Marguisa’s expertise in West Africa along with the deep knowledge of UHL in maritime transport engineering solutions will allow Marguisa to cover a vast range of maritime requirements evolving from general cargo and breakbulk shipments up to project cargoes, oversized and super-heavy lift pieces,” said Francisco Duran, general manager at Marguisa.

Marguisa has also introduced its Marguisa Calabar Feeder service (MCF), which connects the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Far East, South East Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East with Calabar port in Nigeria.

Offering weekly departures, the service provides an alternative port of call to Onne and Port Harcourt and will start operating on June 15, 2019.
