February 9 - McIntosh Heavy Logistics, part of McIntosh Plant Hire, has invested in a MAN TGX 41.640 tractor unit with a new 15.2 litre D38 engine to assist with its work in the oil and gas industry.

Directors of the Aberdeen based company, Bert and Gary McIntosh, said that the prime mover "will be kept very busy hauling loads for our contracts for the energy industry, moving machinery and parts for the wind farms and a lot of work on the quayside for the offshore energy firms".

They added that the extra torque offered by the tractor unit's D38 engine will allow the company to move loads of around 230 - 250 tonnes.

"We have MAN vehicles in our current fleet, but this is the first one with the new engine and we are looking forward to watching it prove itself," said the company directors.
