February 19 - Port Metro Vancouver recorded a year-on-year decline in breakbulk metal imports during the second half of 2015, which it attributed to lower capital investments in the energy sector.

However, with overall volumes of 1.4 million tonnes, 2015 remained the second-highest year for metals handed on record, said the Canadian port.

Overall cargo volumes at the gateway remained steady, with 138 million tonnes of cargo handled in 2015.

Port Metro Vancouver posted a 5 percent year-on-year rise in container shipments for the reporting period, with bulk cargo volumes growing by 20 percent.
