December 6 - Liebherr has received three mobile harbour crane orders from the Middle East, including two LHMs and the first LiSIM LHM 500 for the region.

The new LiSIM mobile harbour crane simulator, which was launched in 2013, was ordered for Saqr Port in Ras Al Kaimah, United Arab Emirates.

In addition, Saqr Port also ordered an LHM 550, which is equipped with Liebherr's Pactronic system for highly efficient bulk handling, to enforce its existing mobile harbour crane fleet and bring its total number of mobile harbour cranes to six.

The new crane and simulator will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2014.

NAWAH Port Management has also invested in cargo handling equipment for the Al-Maqal port in Iraq, with the addition of an LHM 180, allowing for lifts of up to 64 tonnes, and a LRS 645 reachstacker, which began operating in the summer of this year.

The Middle East/India/Africa (MIA) region represents an important market for Liebherr's mobile harbour cranes, with more than 40 sales in the region this year, and the company is optimistic that this positive trend will continue.
