July 20 - Muscat International Shipping (MIS) has transported seven Wärtsilä diesel generators from the port of Duqm to the Masirah Island power plant project in Oman.

The seven generators, each of which weighed 140 tonnes and measured 13 m x 3.7 m x 4.4 m, were unloaded from a vessel in Duqm before being stored at the port and then loaded onto multi-axle trailers for road transport to the Shannah ferry port.

From Shannah, the generators were shipped to Masirah port, before being delivered by road to the power plant site and installed onto their foundations.

MIS is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Oman.

Elsewhere, another PCN member, Jet Services, coordinated the shipment of three LPG storage tanks from Turkey to Malta. The tanks, each of which measured 13.5 m x 3.5 m x 3.5 m, were first transported by road from the plant to a Turkish port, where they were loaded onto three Mafi trailers and driven onto a ro-ro vessel for shipment to Malta, via Italy.
