May 31 - The London office of Misnak International part chartered the BBC Chartering ship, BBC Switzerland, to handle a complex transport project from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Mombasa, Kenya.

The cargo, consisting of a previously-owned Sobemai port unloader crane, was loaded partly on deck and partly in the hold of the ship.

The port unloader's main body, weighing 270 tonnes, was loaded on board in a tandem lift performed by the ship's two 250-tonne capacity cranes.

Misnak explained that this was made complicated because the ship had to berth on the outside of the sea wall in the Tenerife port and lift the unit over the port's parapet. Oil rigs alongside the normal berth prevented BBC Switzerland from mooring there.

The other parts of the port unloader, including the boom and grab, were dismantled prior to shipment and loaded under deck.
