February 12 - Indian forwarder Om Projects, a division of Om Freight Forwarders Pvt. Ltd, has handled a huge piece of project cargo, weighing more than 1,000 tonnes, at Mumbai port.

Om Projects says the unit, a jack-up platform weighing 1,005 tonnes, is the biggest of its kind to move through the Maharashtra port. The cargo belongs to AFCONS, one of the forwarder's long-standing clients.

Including export and import cargo, the total volume of cargo handled in the project was nearly 50,000 cbm.

A spokesman for the firm said: "We are thankful to our esteemed client, as well as the Mumbai port authorities, customs and the various allied agencies involved in this successful movement."
