September 30 - Alec G. Dreyer is the new executive director of the Port of Houston Authority.
Mr Dreyer comes from an energy industry background and is Houston's 11th port director in 90 years and the first to come from outside the maritime industry.
He replaces Thomas Kornegay, who retired in February after 17 years at the port authority's helm.
