June 9 - The naming ceremony of the first of four NileDutch newbuild vessels, the NileDutch Breda, has been held at the Shanghai Shipyard on Chongming Island.

NileDutch is expanding its fleet with four custom-designed container vessels, which are capable of handling out-of-gauge project cargoes.

The newbuilds will be registered in the Netherlands and will operate on the company's West Africa - Far East rotation.

The dimensions and deck equipment of the four new vessels are tailored to the African ports they will serve. Each vessel has an overall length of 224 m, a 34.8 m beam and a draft of 12.5 m, with a capacity of 3,510 teu.

The other three vessels are scheduled for completion later this year.

NileDutch Africa Line BV provides liner services between West African ports and Europe, South Africa, South America and Asia.
