GTI acquires Precision Specialized Division

Canada’s GTI Transport Solution has acquired Precision Specialized Division (PSD), the heavy haulage arm of Precision Truck Lines.

GTI plans to relocate all operations to a new site in Brantford, Ontario, where the business will operate with the same personnel under the brand name Precision Specialized Inc (PSI).

Richard Lafrenière, ceo of GTI, expects the acquisition to support the company’s plans to become the preferred open-deck/heavy haul transportation provider in North America. As part of this expansion, the company launched GTI USA in 2018.

Frédérick Perrault, senior partner of private equity firm Novacap – a stakeholder in GTI – confirmed that there are other acquisitions in the pipeline that will further expand the company’s capabilities and geographic reach.

Ed Bernard, former vice president of Precision Specialized Division, will stay with the company as president of Precision Specialized Inc.
