July 9 - OSL, Project Cargo Network (PCN) member in the Netherlands, has unloaded 27 steel pipes from nine barges at the port of Rotterdam, writes Isabel Freedman.

The 47 m long steel pipes, each with a diameter of 2.5 m and weighing approximately 140 tonnes, were loaded onboard barges at Steelwind, Nordenham in Germany, before being shipped to Rotterdam.

The shipment required nine barge trips from Germany to Rotterdam, where many of the pipes were discharged onto the quay, with some being transhipped directly onto a pontoon for direct delivery to Rotterdam Calandkanaal.

The pipes will now be used for mooring crude oil tankers in the Rotterdam Europort.
