February 25 - TransProject and ScanGlobal have completed a three-year-long project to deliver seven 400-tonne transformers from Sweden to The Dalles in Oregon, USA.

The transformers were first transported from a site in Norrköping to the port by rail; before being loaded onto a heavy lift vessel for shipment to the Port of Vancouver USA.

On arrival in Vancouver, the transformers were lifted directly from the vessel onto a barge for the 145 km delivery upriver to The Dalles in Oregon.

In The Dalles, each transformer was unloaded onto self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) and delivered over 13 km by road to the converter station, where the units are being installed.

The overland journey required transporting the huge cargoes through the city of The Dalles, which involved navigating a roundabout.

Both TransProject and ScanGlobal are members of the Project Professionals Group (PPG).
