April 30 - Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has seen its Q1 2013 freight levels grow by 2.25 percent year-on-year to 366,269 tonnes.

In January 2013, Schiphol Cargo reported a 6.66 percent year-on-year improvement in freight traffic to 116,137 tonnes. Asian traffic grew by 17 percent while European freight throughput climbed 22.8 percent.
 
In February 2013, traffic fell by 3.9 percent to 113,469 tonnes. Asian traffic slid 9.5 percent below 2012 levels, but Latin American freight levels rose by 13.3 percent.
 
Freight traffic recovered in March 2013 with a year-on-year rise of 4.1 percent to 136,663 tonnes during Q1. Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia all demonstrated positive freight growth.
 
According to Schiphol Cargo senior VP Enno Osinga: "Recent experiences teach us all to be cautious about predictions, but there is an air of optimism in the business that we have not seen for some time. So I would like to think we can maintain or improve this trend throughout the year."
