A large French electricity group constructed the slipway for the transport of heavy goods. To test it, the company contracted SDV's industrial projects department to load a transformer from the Flamanville nuclear power plant. The 250 tonne electrical transformer was destined for Cherbourg.
To move the transformer, SDV chartered a self-manoeuvring barge that barge that can adapt to tide levels and can transport up to 1,200 tonnes.
