Multipurpose time charter rates edge up

Time charter rates in the multipurpose shipping sector have increased over the last month, according to the latest data from shipbroker Toepfer Transport.

 

Over the last month, Toepfer says that the average daily time charter rate for a 12,500 dwt/F-Type heavy lift vessel increased by USD78 to reach USD7,294.

This represents an increase of USD988 compared to the rate of USD6,306 at the same time last year.

Toepfer's monthly TMI index is based on six to 12-month time charter rates and is compiled using data obtained from operators, owners and brokers.
