Steely move for Blue Water

December 20 - Blue Water Shipping's terminal crew transported two steel structures weighing 99 tonnes and 65.5 tonnes respectively at the Port of Esbjerg.

The structures were delivered from Semco Maritime's facility to the north side of the port, where the installation vessel Seajack Scylla was berthed.

"The project was solved without problems and all the safety challenges were analysed and solved prior to transport. Blue Water has vast experience with transporting large items in the port area and that is why we chose them. They lived up to our expectations in full", says Morten Kjeldmann, senior project manager at Semco's rig division.

In order to complete the move, six lamp posts were removed to create a clear passage to the Seajack Scylla.

Allan Leiberg Brodersen, responsible for sales and development in Blue Water's project department, added: "The solution we offered Semco was good in terms of safety and economics. Our terminal crew knows precisely how to transport large items, especially in places where the lack of space can be challenging."
