August 19 - Transped Ltd, based at the Port of Blyth, UK is to start a ro-ro service to complement its existing North Sea container services.

The full service freight forwarder will be acting as UK liner and ship agents for the Finnish line UPM Seaways service offering direct links from Blyth, Northumberland to Hamina, Finland and Rouen, France.

To meet demand for raw paper products from France, the service will call at Blyth twice monthly, with all ro-ro cargoes being considered.

With direct links to Finland, the service will offer shippers based in the North of the UK options for Russian-bound project cargoes. Transped will run the service from its port-based operational offices.

Working with its export packing department, Transped offers a special project and out of gauge cross trade service with established markets in Europe and North America and the emerging markets of China and Asia. Through its agent's office in Moerdijk, The Netherlands, Transped operates a range of special project trucking equipment throughout mainland Europe.
