November 12 - Verbrugge Zeeland Terminals in the port of Vlissingen, Netherlands and its partner Sarens have completed the load-out of five tripods for the German offshore wind farm, Global Tech I.

The consortium, Iemants and Eiffage Construction Metallique were responsible for the load-out, as well as the stability engineering of the tripods and engineering of the transport support structures.

Verbrugge and Sarens provided Iemants with suitable infrastructural conditions and handling experience that was required for this project.

The final assembly of the tripods was undertaken in Vlissingen whilst Verbrugge and Sarens provided the logistical support, as well as 180 ha of terminal space and 3,000 m of heavy-duty quayside.

Global Tech I is expected to be fully operational in the summer of 2014, with a total of 80 5 MW turbines and Verbrugge Zeeland Terminals is expecting to be an important marshalling and assembly facility for future developments within the offshore wind energy sector.
