January 20 - Universal Transport has invested in 32 modular axle lines from the Faymonville G-SL series for the transport of various power plant components to Egyptian sites.

According to Faymonville, the 32 G-SL axle lines will make up the modular vehicle fleet of the newly founded Universal Transport Egypt (UTE), which will be used in two major projects in the coming months.

The task is to transport arriving goods from the port in Adabiya to the building sites in New Cairo and Beni Suef, where Faymonville says the country's two largest gas-fired power plants are currently under construction.

The power plant components to be transported can weigh up to 190 tonnes.

As the country's renewable energy sector starts to develop, Faymonville says that it also expects thousands of new wind turbines to be erected and the volume of project cargo traffic to increase.
